Every Pompe Pearl of wisdom offers strength and hope for the community.

INSIGHT
Pompe disease is a very rare neuromuscular disease, with no two patients experiencing the same impact of the disease, and little awareness leaving the community feeling isolated. With lived experiences of this rare disease so unique and precious, they needed to be given a platform.

IDEA
We created the ‘Pompe Pearls’ - pearls of wisdom, from the community, for the community. Taking guidance from lived experiences and insight from across the globe, we created bespoke typographic representations of their words to celebrate and share their unique understanding of life with Pompe, with the wider community on International Pompe Day in 2021. Commissioning an array of internationally renowned typographers to then develop and deliver a distinct suite of pearls for multi platform usage. The campaign was extended to 2022 and 2023.

For the run up to IPD 2022, we produced a further set of typographic Pompe Pearls,
culminating in a mural piece, inspired by the lived experience of someone with Pompe in Columbia.
We commissioned artist Holly Pereira to create the free standing mural in English and Spanish.
